Tekron clock run over by 4 ton forklift - and lives!
Our service department recently fielded a call from our courier about a slight mishap that had happened to a shipment: apparently a parcel containing one of our clocks had been run over by a forklift.
Expecting the worst, we immediately shipped off a replacement clock to our customer and waited for the expected box of crushed silicon chips to be returned to us.
On opening the parcel we were surprised to see that, not only was the clock still in one piece (albeit rather battered), but there were no ominous rattles from inside the casing. With our curiosity aroused, our engineers immediately hooked the clock up to our test equipment and subjected it to a battery of tests.
It passed with flying colours - apart from some dents in the casing there was absolutely nothing wrong with the clock!
This adds new meaning to the phrase "Ruggedized clocks".
